Victim of Online Auction Fraud?

Our Ohio Class Action Lawyers Will Help You

Picture of online law
Online auctions are rapidly becoming a huge business.  Millions of items are up for sale at popular online auction websites at any one time.  At eBay alone, there are over five million items for sale.  Thousands of people even make a living buying and selling items on eBay and other online auction websites.  Unfortunately, this also means that there are many opportunities for online auction fraud.  In many cases, this occurs when an individual buyer or seller tries to cheat another person out of money or a product.  However, in more serious cases, the website itself may be part of the scheme.  If you or someone you love has been the victim of online auction fraud, an Ohio class action lawyer from Kitrick, Lewis & Harris, Co. L.P.A. can help you file a class action lawsuit.  It can be difficult for an individual to go up against a large corporation like eBay, but corporations cannot brush aside the voices of hundreds of customers who have been the victim of fraud.  Our attorneys have years of experience with consumer fraud cases, and we can help you understand what options are available to you and answer any questions you might have.  Contact Kitrick, Lewis & Harris, Co. L.P.A. to meet with our partners personally and see how we can help you.

An Example of Online Auction Fraud

A website called GoAntiques.com once partnered with eBay to sell a large number of their items on the popular online auction site.  At one point, some customers accused eBay and GoAntiques.com of shilling, which is when eBay or GoAntiques.com would create fake users on eBay and bid on their own auctions to drive up the price.  The customers filed a class action lawsuit and the courts certified the case for settlement.  eBay was forced to change their conduct with regard to auction shilling, and the customers received compensation for the artificially inflated prices they paid.

This is just one example of the types of fraud that our attorneys can help you fight through a class action lawsuit.  If any of those customers had filed a lawsuit individually, it likely would have been very easy for eBay and GoAntiques.com to say that they were not fixing the prices and avoid accepting liability.  They would have likely continued defrauding customers until someone forced them to accept responsibility for their deceitful practices.   You need an experienced lawyer and a strong class action lawsuit to make your voice heard.
