Many people do not know but as of the first of this year, Ohio’s “Move Over” law has changed. It used to be that drivers had to slow down considerably or move over when a police vehicle or officer was stopped on the road side. Now, drivers must make the same maneuvers for maintenance and construction workers. The change occurred because of how many workers are injured or killed  on the job in work zones. So, a driver should:

–          Change lanes and move away from the roadside vehicles; or

–          If one cannot safely move over due to traffic or other obstacles, one must slow down to 20 mph below the posted speed limit.

Hopefully, this law will even more  lives and make the roadways  safer for everyone.
