We are seeing far too often folks and even corporations that have failed to purchase critical car insurance protection called “uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage.” This coverage (which is not all that expensive)  is needed when you or a loved one or a passenger in your car or  if you are in another car, or on a motorcycle, or even if you are walking around as a pedestrian are hurt by a motorist who either has no liability car insurance or does not have enough liability car insurance for your injuries. This puts you and your family, your assets, and perhaps your business in serious financial jeopardy.

This situation tends to occur more often when you do not have a personal relationship with an insurance agent,  or you are doing your insurance coverage over the Internet or by paperwork alone. Your  agent should meet and talk with you once a year to review all your car and home coverages. When such a relationship does not exist, then you must figure out on your own what kinds of coverage to buy and how much. Many people tell us that they believe they are “fully covered” when they in fact are not, or do not understand that there are many layers or levels as to what fully covered truly means. Overall, ascertaining car insurance for all your vehicles and covering everyone in your household is a daunting task and it is very difficult to make informed decisions until and unless you are completely updated on the ever-changing laws and fully comprehend all the types of coverages you can consider when buying car insurance.

We encourage you to meet with your agent right away over the holidays, and review all your insurance coverages so you can determine whether you need further protections when it comes to liability, uninsured motorist, underinsured motorist, collision, umbrellas, med pay, deductibles, and so on.

If you have any questions, please call us anytime. All of us at KLH want to insure that  you and your family are safe and fully protected.
